Joe’s Gym is our little nod to where Pilates began.
In Joseph Pilates’ original studio, clients did not simply move through a scheduled class. They came in to practise, repeat, refine and build confidence in their own bodies with guidance and consistency over time.
Joe’s Gym brings that original studio feeling into Principle Movements.
Designed for those wanting more freedom, flexibility and time within their Pilates practice, Joe’s Gym Independent Practice allows eligible clients to move independently in the studio, practise at their own pace and build confidence outside of the traditional class timetable.
Access is available during allocated Joe’s Gym hours.
Intro sessions or apparatus preparation may be required depending on your experience level.

Joe’s Gym has been created to bring back the feeling of personal practice. Before Pilates became something you booked into on a timetable, it was a studio practice.
A place to move, repeat, learn, refine and build confidence in your own body. Joe’s Gym gives you access to spend more time in the studio, follow your own practice plan and move independently, while still being supported by the Principle Movements team.
This is your chance to take what you learn in class and continue building it in your own time.

ARE YOU NEW TO
reformer or apparatus
Begin with a Reformer Intro to learn the foundations, understand the equipment and feel confident moving independently. For Apparatus access, complete our Apparatus Pre Pilates Prep before using the larger studio equipment. These starting points are here to help you feel safe, supported and ready for Joe’s Gym.

FIRST TIME AT
joe's gym...
WHAT TO EXPECT
Joe’s Gym is different to our group class style.
You will not be moving through a teacher led class. Instead, you will be using the studio for your own independent practice during allocated access hours. You can expect a calm, supportive environment where you can take your time, follow your practice plan, revisit familiar movements and build confidence in your own body.
ARRIVAL
Please arrive 10 minutes early. We'd love to show you around, introduce ourselves, discuss your goals and health profile, and ensure you feel right at home in our space.
DURATION
Independent personal practice sessions run for 60 minutes unless stated otherwise. Access windows will be available for booking through Momence.
ATTIRE
Wear comfortable tights/shorts and a workout style top that keeps everything in place.
Remember, socks are COMPULSORY for all Pilates classes for safety and hygiene. Any socks will do, but grip socks are preferred. Don't worry if you don't have them; we've got a fantastic range available for purchase in the studio.
WHAT TO BRING
We've got all the Pilates equipment ready for you. Just bring yourself, water, and a towel for your comfort during the session. If you would prefer to use your own headphones for your independent practice, you are more than welcome to bring them along, otherwise we will have some available for use in the studio.
